Jacksonville St Guard Jaron Pierre Jr put up 31 points in a convincing win for the Gamecocks against the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers in Conway, SC. Pierre shot 11 of 19 from the field, including a couple of three-pointers. Pierre would also shoot 7 of 8 from the free throw line in the contest.

For Coastal Carolina, big man Noah Amenhauser added 11 points while collecting eight rebounds in the game. With 12:17 remaining in the first half, Jacksonville State took the lead and held onto it. With 18 points in the first half, Pierre led his team in scoring and helped them lead 38–21 at the half. Jacksonville State’s 10-3 scoring outburst in the second half helped them increase their lead to 64-37. Pierre scored a team-high 13 points in the second half as Jacksonville St. closed out the win.

The clincher would be that the Gamecocks finished with a field goal percentage of almost 52%, while the Chants shot only 35%.

Coastal Carolina will look to get back on track on November 22nd when they face IU Indy, with a tip-off scheduled for 5:00. Coastal will try to improve on its 1-3 record thus far.
