LeBron James will most definitely be with the Los Angeles Lakers through the 22/23 season. But what’s next for the then thirty-eight year old? Let’s think about it for a minute. Not that I have inside knowledge on the topic or anything, this is just a collection of my thoughts for how his career will end (contrary to belief from his stats, body, athletic ability). It WILL at some point end. As you know LeBron likes the drama, whether it be on the court, or him taking to the big screen in his free time to star in, direct, or what have you. So, why would he not want to ride out into the sunset with the Cinderella-esq type ending, and bring some late game heroics to us sports fans; Especially us Cleveland Cavs fans?
As you’re reading this blog, LeBron’s son “Bronny” is sixteen years old. He is 176 Lbs. and stands 6″3. He has some athleticism running through his veins (obviously), but does he have what it takes to play in the NBA? Or even go straight to the NBA at 19 years old? This just wasn’t the case for Michael Jordan’s son coming out of Central Florida, for example. Sometimes the apple falls extremely far from the tree. Whether that being the seed of a G.O.A.T, just not having the capability to live up to the expectation. Or maybe they had other passions in life to pursue. In Bronny’s case, I see the talent, but with the return of players jumping from high school to the NBA not returning anytime soon, Bronny must go to one year of college, or forgo college and enter the NBA’s Developmental League, otherwise known as the “G-League.”
As you may or may not know, LeBron has hit the “Billionaires Club” which was a goal from the beginning. Why is this relevant? I’ll get to that in a second. Owning a part of an MLB franchise like the Boston Red Sox may seem like a hefty investment, and it is, but you have to think long term returns. They would greatly outweigh the deficit that you had to spend to acquire it. LeBron James recently became part owner of that historic franchise. Stating he wanted to be the “one of the first black men apart of the FSG Ownership Group.” When LeBron sets goals, he accomplishes them. Regardless of the hurdles, he always prevails. Which leads me to the meat and potatoes of this post. It is a well known goal that LeBron wants to still be around when Bronny gets of age to make a run and attempt the NBA.
Conclusion: After all of this buildup I have come to my own personal conclusions on how this storied career plays out. I believe that LeBron James will come back to Cleveland for the 23/24 NBA season, convince them to somehow draft Bronny, play one year with him, retire as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers (where it all started). I think he will end up purchasing the team to wrap up his career. All in an attempt to make peace with the state of Ohio for leaving them high and dry not once, but twice! By my calculations this has a 39% chance of happening (not really) so you might want to go ahead and purchase some Cavs gear! Today’s world revolves around percentages any way!
