The Bradley Braves won the sixth annual Myrtle Beach Invitational on Sunday at the campus of Coastal Carolina by defeating the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders by a score of 80-69. The tournament hosts eight teams every year, and most get to see teams that go on to make a run in March during March Madness and their conference championships.
This year’s bracket included Ohio, Portland, Wright State, Bradley, Texas State, Middle Tennessee State, South Florida, and Princeton. The tournament also had its fair share of NBA prospects. Princeton’s Xavian Lee and Wright State’s Brandon Noel were at the top of that list. It was an intimate environment that provided great fundamental basketball for all in attendance.
After their championship win, Bradley’s Head Coach, Brian Wardle, stated, “It was a total team effort; we have a very unselfish group.”
Come March, look for the Bradley Braves to make a splash in the Missouri Valley Conference and the NCAA Tournament.
